The day includes circle time, independent work time, snack recess, lunch bunch, outdoor play, and another cycle of circle time, independent work, recess, and snack.

Friends of the Classroom

The class incorporates a weekly rotation of specialists in art, dance, and music. The children produce unique projects like birdhouses and theater masks on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday afternoons children use creative movement, dancing with scarves and hopping like bunnies to explore their space with dance.  On Mondays students gather to sing songs and jingle tambourines. 

A monthly visitor joins us for an in class field trip focused on our unit of the month. We study art history from the Frye Art Museum and make bubbling green liquids with Kid's Quest. 

We also celebrate holidays with gusto! We search for treasures and gold coins around the playground on St. Patrick's day and turn our playground into a pumpkin patch on Halloween.
